Dear friends,
Oh the places we have, are, and will be going seems to be our current theme! At this moment, I am working on a presentation for our staff that documents our history, our current state, and our plans for the near future. It’s a bit of an emotional task for me as I reflect on all we have accomplished together…the growth in the past two years, during a pandemic no less, has been off the charts!
Just two short years ago, we were serving 568 students on 10 HISD campuses with our Reading Intervention program with 41 staff members. NOW, we will be serving ~ 1200 students on 20 campuses (16 HISD & 4 Aldine ISD) with 80 on staff.
Last month, we were honored with two incredible awards…be sure to read all about them, below. BUT, hands down, our most coveted award is seeing the smiles on the faces of our students as they become confident readers and our parents’ smiles as they attain new skills to share with their children at home.
I say it often, but it cannot be said enough…NONE of these things could be accomplished without YOU! My heart is filled with deep gratitude for YOU: our donors, volunteers, partners, and staff. Oh, the places we will continue to go, together!
