October brings a wave of excitement to Literacy Now as our programs are underway and our team returns to schools and communities across Houston. After extensive preparation, it is rewarding to welcome the children and families we are honored to serve.
This vital work relies heavily on the generosity of our donors, partners, board members, volunteers, and staff. Your dedication and commitment help us provide individualized reading support, early literacy programming, books, and resources to children who need them most.
Last year, our Reading Intervention students experienced an impressive average increase of 85% in foundational reading skills. Behind that number are children gaining confidence, becoming more independent readers, and finding greater success in the classroom.
As we begin another program year, I look forward to sharing their progress and successes with you. Thank you for being part of Literacy Now and helping us empower children through literacy.
