Hello friends,
I hope everyone had a wonderful Spring Break, enjoying time with family and friends, having fun and relaxing! The spring semester is flying by and quickly coming to an end, I can almost hear our Interventionists saying, “Oh, I just need a few more weeks with my students!”
As always, we are engulfed in a whirlwind of activity and although we are still basking in the glow of an amazing Houston Reads Day event, we are in full Guild Luncheon preparation mode. Spring Break offered an opportunity to take a breath before we return to our students for the final push toward the end of what has been an incredible year watching them blossom and grow while increasing their ability to read! It’s truly such a gift to be able to do this work – whether we are behind the scenes or with the students – we know THIS work is critical to our students’ and city’s future success.
Our mantra for this school year has been Turning Challenges Into Opportunities and we’ve done just that. I have a feeling that mantra will continue into 2024-25 as things continually change in the public education landscape. At Literacy Now, we are a scrappy bunch doing whatever it takes to serve more struggling readers and to ensure our kiddos succeed.
