Dear Friends,
I am thrilled to share that Literacy Now is partnering with Harris County Public Library, which is leading a new literacy initiative at the Harris County Juvenile Probation Department’s Leadership Academy to provide our Reading Intervention program to the youth as part of their literacy initiative. Over the next 6 weeks, this pilot program will work closely with the students, empowering these young men to read. We are excited to see the growth and impact we can achieve together. Stay tuned for more updates next month and follow us on social media for the latest news. In addition, we renewed our partnership with the Harris County Department of Education and BakerRipley’s Ripley House to provide five weeks of our Reading Intervention program to 36 students this summer. We can’t wait to return to Ripley House and support their young readers.
As you and your family enjoy the summer, it’s essential to take proactive measures against the “Summer Slide” where children can lose valuable knowledge in a short period of time. To keep their minds engaged and focused on reading, consider incorporating fun and interactive activities at home.
As always, thank you for your continued support and for coming alongside us to empower kids to read!
For the Children,

Jacklyn Minimah-Wilson
