April 1, 2022 — Jr. League of Houston — 10:30am - 1:00pm
Did you know that 41% of young children in Houston are not ready for kindergarten? Or that 73% of 3rd graders in Houston do not read at grade level?
Literacy Now provides reading readiness and reading intervention programs, parent engagement, and trained volunteer mentors for our Lunch Bunch program - elements contributing to children's long-term success. We support children and their families in HISD and Aldine ISD and community sites throughout Houston. Our goal is to empower students to read on grade level by the end of third grade, thereby increasing the likelihood that children will graduate from high school and be ready to pursue postsecondary goals.
Right now, you can join us to make an impact on the lives of Houston children by supporting our upcoming Guild Luncheon, Bee Inspired, on April 1, 2022, at the Junior League of Houston. See below for the many ways you can help empower kids to read through supporting the Guild Luncheon.
